Before I start I just wanted to mention that on Friday I found out that I got the full time position that I applied for. I am the lead teacher in the toddler room at Easter Seals Jane's House. I will be starting my new job March 26th. I am excited but also a little nervous for this new opportunity. I have enjoyed working for the YMCA here in Yakima but working with this age group is what I have always wanted. I have learned at lot about myself and how I am capable of doing things that I didn't think I could do. I appreciate the opportunity to have worked at the YMCA.
On to the show :)
1996- Braveheart
This movie was ok. The one thing I really liked about the movie was the music. I think the music is really nice. Before Mel Gibson went crazy I thought he did a good job in this movie. About a month ago I was home and this movie was on TV so I decided to watch it again. Thankfully it was on a channel that cut some of the gory stuff. I really didn't want to see all that. While I was home my brother Michael and his family were there also and he mentioned how in a lot of Mel Gibson's early movies all of his characters seemed really cocky. When I re-watched Braveheart I did notice in the film that Mel Gibson's character did seem cocky at times. I will admit that he did a pretty good job of doing a Scottish accent but I prefer a real Scottish accent like Sean Connery. I just love it :) At least Mel Gibson could do an accent. I love the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Kevin Costner tried so hard to do an English accent but it always came out really awful so the director decided to just not have him do one. Random tangent I know but I don't care :) Also if you want to know why I love this movie so much you should go ask my dad :) Will I watch Braveheart again I'm not sure. Will I go watch the scene where the Scottish men moon the soldiers most definitely ;) It's just not my type of movie. If you want to know what my type of movie is ask my sister :) She and her husband came to visit and I went home to see them and she mentioned how we have different styles in movies. We were at Wal-Mart one night with my mom and I showed my sister a movie that I have just watched with a friend of mine a week ago and lets just say my sister didn't let me forget how different we were. I love you Sarah and I'm not upset for the teasing :)
1995- Forrest Gump
All I have to say is if you didn't like this movie then something is wrong with you. I know I use the word love a lot in my blog but I really do just love this movie. This film and Philadelphia are my favorite Tom Hanks movies. Tom Hanks is my favorite actor. He does a great job playing Forrest. I love the music, the acting and just everything about this movie. I truly believe that the Academy Awards got this one right for Best Picture. I reading some where that Tom Hanks patterned his accent after Michael Conner Humphreys who played young Forrest who actually talked like that. If you have seen the movie and can't figure out where you have seen the woman that plays Jenny, she played Princess Buttercup in The Princess Bride. If you haven't seen this movie then go out and watch it. You will not be disappointed.
